A UTR (Unique Taxpayer Reference) number or tax reference is a 10 digit code that's unique to either you or your company. Your UTR number identifies you personally with HMRC for things related to your tax obligations.
It basically proves that you are self employed.
If you dont yet have a UTR number when applying, contact the agency and ask if its ok that you add a temporary one eg "0" whilst you´re in the process of applying for one.
